About the Residency
Verità Baroque serves as the International Visiting Artist Program Ensemble-in-Residence during the 2026 Madison Early Music Festival, bringing four international musicians from Italy and Germany to UW–Madison. During their weeklong residency, the ensemble will lead performances, masterclasses, and interdisciplinary programs across the Mead Witter School of Music and the broader campus.
The residency anchors Verità Baroque’s U.S. debut and supports MEMF’s relaunch as an immersive, interdisciplinary festival. In addition to public concerts, the artists will collaborate with students and faculty, participate in the UW–Madison Arts Convening at the Chazen Museum of Art, and contribute to workshops that connect historical performance practice with contemporary artistic research.

About the Ensemble
Verità Baroque, founded in 2020 by Taya König-Tarasevich and Bartolomeo Dandolo Marchesi, is a young and revolutionary ensemble that reimagines Baroque music for contemporary audiences. By combining historically informed performances with modern compositions inspired by Baroque stylistic elements and written specifically for the group, Verità Baroque creates an unexpected bridge between past and present, transforming tradition into a vivid and surprising experience.
Verità Baroque is an internationally acclaimed period-instrument ensemble dedicated to reimagining Baroque music through bold programming, cinematic production, and historically informed performance. The ensemble brings together leading next-generation Baroque musicians to create performances that unite musical scholarship with contemporary visual storytelling.
Through collaborations with scientists, sound engineers, and filmmakers, Verità Baroque explores immersive formats, from live concerts to the production of 360° videos and innovative albums. In collaboration with the record labels Evil Penguin Records and MotorMusic, they have already released two CDs, The German Album and The Italian Album, combining Baroque masterpieces with newly commissioned works for the ensemble, offering an innovative perspective on tradition.
Verità Baroque is known for its groundbreaking Immersive Project, which combines historically informed performance with high-definition filmmaking in European castles and heritage sites. Their recordings have received international recognition for their musical excellence and innovative presentation.
