'Whose Art is it Anyway?' emerges as the culmination of a thought-provoking 3-credit course, bearing the same title. This course delves into the multifaceted dimensions of art, encompassing social, personal, political, and spiritual elements within the context of South Asian cultural and performance traditions. The exhibit showcases the creativity of the students in the course. They explore new ideas and challenge traditional views of art, giving us fresh perspectives. Through their work, they expand our understanding of what art can. 10 am: Open Gallery, 4 pm: Main Event

Participants in this session will join facilitator Sri Vamsi Matta in drama/theatre methods, movement practices, art therapy, and dialogue surrounding mental health, equity, and social justice. What are the things that make you feel like you don’t and do belong? Who are the people who make you feel like you don’t and do belong? How do we create bridges between these spaces to lead to belonging? The takeaway, Vamsi hopes, is to create dialogues around the intersection of social identity and mental health.
